IN division one of the Okehampton and district Table Tennis league Bridestowe were at home to Milton Abbot.
Bridestowe went into a 2-0 lead before Ottila Pochat beat Francis Griffiths in a close match, just winning 17-15 12-10 7-11 6-11 7-11. Mark Tancock beat Michael Blatchford and went on to complete his fourth maximum.
Tim Westcott completed a hard fought victory against Francis 11-6 in the fifth leg and won his last singles against Mark Fogerty in straight sets. Mark Tancock and Francis Griffiths won the doubles to complete a 7-3 win for Bridestowe.
Bridestowe took the lead against North Wyke A before Xubo Chang levelled. Bridestowe stepped up through the gears to win the next seven singles and the doubles for a 9-1 victory.
Mark Tancock and Mark Fogerty both scored maximums.
The Mixtures were at home to league leaders Tavistock, who completed the double in style with a 10-0 victory. The win puts Tavistock 26 points ahead of second placed Bridestowe, who have a game in hand.
Also in division one Anchorage A were at home to Horrabridge A. Anchorage started well, winning the first three singles. John Stewart led the fight back, beating both Malcolm Hopkins and Colin Jones. Chloe Greenaway also beat Colin Jones in the fifth leg and Colin Brooker in the fourth.
Chloe Greenaway and Bob Newcombe won the doubles against Malcolm and Colin Jones for a 5-5 draw.
In division two Gunnislake were at home to Anchorage B, who raced into a 5-0 lead with Dave Wilson and Roger Gilbert winning two singles each. Dave went on to win his last for a fine maximum.
Michael Kinger pulled one back for Gunnislake in a tough five legs against Dave Vanstone. Michael Alexander did well to defeat Roger Gilbert. Roger and Dave Wilson won the doubles to finish off an 8-2 win for Anchorage to bring them just eight points behind league leaders Okehampton C.
Moretonhampstead were at home against North Wyke B who could only field two players. Ken Underhill put Moretonhampstead 1-0 ahead, though Jill Whitley beat Paul Brodey to level the scores. Ken beat Jill and Richard Underhill beat Aiden Hulatt to put Moretonhampstead 5-1 ahead.
The game finished 6-4 to Moretonhampstead.
