DIVISION one of Okehampton and District Table Tennis League saw Tavistock win their second match 10-0 against Anchorage A who have yet to score a point. Colin Brooker took Roger Bowkett to four legs as did Malcolm Hopkins.

Bridestowe were at home to Academy in a hard fought first game. Tom put Academy 1-0 ahead against Mark Fogerty 3-2 and went on to beat Phil Down, also in five legs. Francis Griffiths in four legs for a hard fought maximum Ben Hill lost to Francis in the second game 3-2 to level at 1-1. Tom Pengelly beat Phil in three legs to lead 2-1. Mark won his next two games beating Ben and Tom Pengelly. Francis also won his next two games with the score at 5-4 to Academy. Bridestowe won the doubles 3-2 for an honourable 5-5 draw.

Okehampton A had a convincing 9-1 win against the Mixtures. Chloe Greenaway saved the whitewash beating John Squire 3-1. Her first division one win. Steve Tyler and John Down both scored maximums.

In division two Okehampton B were at home to Horrabridge who won. The first game saw John Stewart beat Mark Ralph. The second game was a hard fought five set game Howick just losing out to Gill Northey 3-2. Horrabridge could only field two players John and Jill who went on to score fine maximums for a 7-3 win.

Moretonhampstead were at home to North Wyke. Ken Underhill put Moretonhampstead against Mark Tooth. North Wyke took the next, with Steve Granger beating Wendy Collin. Zubo Chang beat Paul Broden and Mark beat Richard Underhill to put North 1-2 ahead. Mark Made it 1-3 against Wendy. Ken beat Zubo. In the next North Wyke won the next four, the last singles Steve completed a fine maximum beating Ken to go 2-7 ahead. Mark and Steve won the doubles against Ken and Wendy for a 2-8 win.

Horrabridge were at home to Gunnislake. John Stewart and Callum Sherrell put Horrabridge 2-0 ahead against Mike Alexander and John Wilkinson before Mike Kineer beat Jill Northey to make the score 2-1 to Horrabridge who stepped up a gear to win the next six singles and the doubles for a 9-1 win.

Okehampton B were at home to a strong Anchorage B of David Wilson, Roger Gilbert and Jenny Gilbert who were too strong for Okehamptons Mark Ralph, William Dodge and Maurine Venton. Playing her first this season David and Roger won all their games in straight sets but Jenny had to work hard against Mark just winning 3-2. Both Maurine and William took her to four legs each. Anchorage ran out 10-0 winners.

The last division two match was North Wyke against Horrabridge. North Wyke had three new players — Enrique Cancer-Berruya, Jill Witley and Dan Harkness. John Stewart put Horrabridge ahead when he beat Enrique. Jill levelled against Gill, John won the next against Jill and Lesley Coleman beat Jill to put Horrabridge 1-3 ahead. Jill beat Dan in the next, Jill won her next against Lesley, John completed his maximum. Enrique won the next to make it 4-5 to Horrabridge and joined Jill in the doubles beating John and Jill to the match a 5-5 draw.
