Bere Alston United 3

Liskeard 1

BERE Alston should have run up a cricket score in the first half as they completely

dominated play.

Darren Phillips shot over the bar twice in the six yard box with the keeper rooted to his line before finally, Gerald Lake blasted home after being set up by a Ben Stephens' lay off.

The second half was more even and Liskeard's young team battled away until Will Westlake's 25 yard drive was in the back of the net before the keeper reacted. His second was even better, a 30 yard volley leaving the keeper flapping.

Bere lost keeper Mark Webber to a dislocated finger, saving at the feet of a Liskeard player.

Tom Wellard came on with 20 minutes to go. He parried away a shot into no man's land and this was swept home by a Liskeard striker. Gerald Lake was outstanding for Bere Alston.
