OKEHAMPTON U12s boys' hockey team travelled to Exeter to play in the Devon tournament.

A sleepy start to the day gave Ashmoor B an easy opening goal which spurred the boys into action. Two quick goals followed and the Oke boys were on their way with a 2-1 win.

A highly competitive game with Marjons looked like slipping away when the Plymouth side scored with only a few minutes left but undeterred Oke were straight back attacking the Marjons' goal and scored the equaliser as time ran out.

Playing with real confidence, the boys produced their best hockey of the day against Teign. With fast flowing attacking play, supported by a strong midfield performance, the young players scored five goals without reply. Solid, reliable defending and some good goalkeeping kept a clean sheet at the other end, resulting in a 5-0 win.

The final game was against Ottery, which was again an exciting game with both teams playing attacking hockey. Both sides had chances to score, but the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

This was a great all round performance by the Okehampton U12s boys' hockey team resulting in their most successful tournament of the season so far.
