EIGHT members of Bere Alston Trekkers travelled to Millennium House in Pensilva to take part in the annual Cornish Marathon.
The county’s only all-road marathon, it began in 1987 and originally started out from Saltash before relocating to Rilla Mill and then Pensilva. The scenic circular route takes runners along the Draynes Valley, through Bodmin Moor.
Running their first marathons were Lisa Birch, Jennie Smith and Alison Greaves, all of whom ran an impressive race.
Julie Page, Natasha Ayres, Julian Setterington, Dave Dencer and Frances Morgan all enjoyed a good run, aided by the hospitality of East Cornwall Harriers and the support of fellow BATs out on the course.
Official race times were unavailable at the time of going to press. The next BATs outing will be at Run Venture’s Rollercoaster at the Tamar Trails and the Bicton Blister, both being staged on November 27.
