IT was with some intrepidation that five members of Bere Alston Trekkers (Bats) pulled on their wet gear to take part in the first event of the year, The Brown Willy.
This event takes place on New Year's day. For those not familiar with the event, the Brown Willy is an informal run of roughly seven miles, mostly on open moorland in Bodmin and after the previous week's weather the going was very wet, slippery and boggy.
The conditions on the day itself made it very windy on the top of Brown Willy.
Although the weather was atrocious, it was well attended and the five Bats taking part all ran well and finished in one piece!
Bats will next be flying at the 11 mile off road event on Sunday, The Obelisk in Dawlish, South Devon.
