Whitchurch v Kenn

A LACK of discipline cost Whitchurch this game, as they slipped to their third defeat of the season.

Batting first Watson and Barriball steadied the ship for the Wayfarers after a couple of early losses. Together they added 99 for third wicket, before Watson fell for 51.

Barriball went on to complete his fifth half century of the season, but partners came and went at the other end.

With a good platform to attack, the batting wilted as Chislett cleared things up with 5-21.

216 all was always going to be difficult to defend on a Whitchurch wicket.

Vernon and Towl bowled well but were not supported and a proliferation of wides did not help the Whitchurch cause.

With Batagodagg scoring 64 and Chislett 39 not out, Kenn eased home with four overs and four wickets to spare. With some of the 48 extras saved, the game could have been a lot closer.
