aSIX Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) made the short trip into Plymouth on May 21 for Plymouth Musketeer’s Muskies Madness.
This is a 5.5mile evening race which starts and finishes at Kings Tamerton Community Centre, and is described as a multi-terrain undulating course on woodland track, riverside path and roadside pavement.
The different surfaces make it challenging and it most certainly is not a fast course as it involves a significant amount of uphill running – including an uphill finish!
The race raised funds for St Luke’s Hospice, which is based in Plymouth and provides care for the terminally ill.
Julie Page led the BATs home and won her age category. The BATs were Julie Page 46 minutes 52 seconds, Frances Morgan 53.30, Laura Hogan 53.55, Hazel Bickley 1 hour 01 minutes 16 seconds, Hilary Head 1.11.51 and Martin Head 1.11.51
