ANGLERS’ Paradise, the fishing lakes holiday resort near Halwill has raised a splendid total of £9,000 in fundraising throughout the year.

It raised the money all year round with raffles, auctions and other events and its ‘Netting Week’ alone raised £2,000 in just one week.

There were also special events such as a bingo night, race night, zombie party night, darts, pool competitions, bonfire and fireworks night and more.

Owner Zig Gregorek said: ‘We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all that have contributed as without you – we couldn’t have done it.’

The money was donated to Devon Air Ambulance, £2,000; Halwill Primary School, £2,000; the restoration of Halwill Church tower, £2,000; repairs to Plymouth Cathedral, £2,000; Holsworthy Food Bank, £500 and Appledore RNLI lifeboats, £500.
