Alphington started brightly and for the first 15 minutes had Okehampton pegged back and defending tirelessly. Okehampton could only hold out for so long and a fine goal put the visitors one up — it wasn't long before they doubled their lead. A change in Okehampton's shape paid dividends and Okehampton started to get back into the match. It was now Okehampton's turn to lay siege to Alphington's goal. Cowan Wilson drilled a smart shot into the bottom corner to put Okehampton back in the game. With time almost up Okehampton won a free kick, from quite a distance. Cowan Wilson fired in the equaliser which proved to be the last kick of the game. It showed real spirit to fight back from two down to grab a draw — a good start to the season.
