ORGANISED by Tavistock Athletic Club and sponsored by Gibbs Kirby, Estate Agents, 339 runners finished the Tavy 7 held on the slopes of Dartmoor, which started and finished at Plaisterdown.

TAC runner Neil Barkell won the seven mile race in 39 minutes 17 seconds. The first lady home was Trish Deykin from Milton Coombe in 46.39. Apart from great support from Plymouth running clubs and the Bere Alston Trekkers, there were runners from West Cornwall, Wolverhampton and Essex.

Sixty eight youngsters and mums and dads took part in the Fun Run, with the Tavy 7 Cup for Primary Schools won by a team from Whitchurch Primary School.
