SIXTEEN year-old Aaron West from Okehampton has won the prestigious Abraham Salver in a county golf competition held at East Devon Golf Club. This is a major achievement for Aaron and he will now go forward to represent Devon in the England Golf Medal event which will be held at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire next year.

On Sunday the Daily Mail Foursomes Qualifier was held at Okehampton. The winners with a gross score of 74 net 63.5 were Alan Stokes and Nick Redman. Matt Soby and Paul Rattenbury were second with gross 72 net 65.

The OGC ladies played a qualifying Stableford and the winner of the silver division was Marcia Guy with 33 points and second was Cherry James with 32pts. In the bronze division the winner was Lorna Evans with 35pts, second was Sue Stanbury with 31pts and third was Mary Keir with 30pts.
