Tavistock A 1
Camborne School of Mines 1
AT the top of the league searching for points Tavistock started strong last week, digging in at the back against a well drilled Camborne School of Mines hockey team.
An explosive start left the home side reeling when Chris Cowie of Tavistock A deflected a shot hit into his own goal — the only goal conceded at home by the A team this season is still not by an opposing team player.
Tavistock had many more chances with short corners but the wall of CSM players held firm.
It was not until late in the second half when some team work from the back with Kev and Dave seeing a gap for Adam and Nick to approach the visitors D, slipping into a collision with the keeper, resulting in a penalty flick. Jake Doney stepped up, took his pick and slotted it into the back left hand corner of the goal to even the score.
Tavistock held their ground to cap the game for an equitable draw.
