Tavistock A 11

Marjon D 0

TAVISTOCK A filled up the spare Saturday with a friendly against a skilfull Marjon side with a real mix of youth and experience.

Tavistock were missing some key players, but with a large squad this season they still managed to bring a lot of talent to the pitch.

Attacking from the start, Tavistock were soon on the score sheet and the second swiftly followed via the returning Andrews. It was a tight game for the  rest of the half although the hosts did manage to claim another goal after a well worked move via Venton and Honey, culminating in another tap in for Andrews.

Tavistock were looking strong in attack but the visiting keeper was keeping a lot of the strikes out. Working the ball through the midfield, Orman was always dangerous and the speed of Toby Stanyer and Harry Donnelly was causing a lot of problems.

Marjon did have their chances, but the defence of Stanyer senior and Anning was looking composed and Osborne in goal was clearing the ball to the fringes well.

In the second half the flood gates opened and the hard work started to pay dividends; the chances created were ending in goals and a very impressive score, with goals being shared across the forwards and midfield.

There will be a special floodlit game on Friday, November 13 — Tavistock hosts Okehampton in the West Devon derby of a Southern League one game’ start 7.30pm. Spectators welcomed.
