Truro B 3

TRURO brought a strong side to Mount Kelly and from the start, the game was very evenly matched. Tavistock looked better in terms of distributing the ball and using the full width of the pitch, but Truro B the visitors looked stronger on the break.

The first goal came from such a break after 11 minutes, when Truro played themselves to get into the scoring zone and converted a quick shot.

Tavistock tightened their marking and a further Truro attack looked to have been driven wide, but the Truro striker stretched magnificently and just got a clean reverse-stick strike on the ball from an extreme angle and stretched the lead to 2-0.

The Red and Blacks counter-attacked and made several chances, but had to begin to push forward as half-time approached. They paid the price when another quick break allowed Truro a third goal just before the break.

From the whistle Tavistock went hard in the second half. An early attack was repelled but nine minutes in Andrews collected a loose ball and, using his trademark tight turn on the ball, rattled the ball against the backboard.

Tavistock were getting the better of the game but once again could not convert penalty corners. Anning forced a penalty corner over the line in the 60th minute but the ball had not left the D and the goal was disallowed. Despite several more efforts flashing across the goal and even hitting the post, Tavistock could not claw back and Truro won 3-1.
