PERSONAL possessions were stolen from a detached garage used as a store for the Dartmoor Gift Shop at Princetown, which was also badly vandalised by the offenders.

PC Steve Bradfield of Tavistock Police said the incident had caused great distress to the elderly owner of the garage, who had lost personal possessions of sentimental value in the burglary.

The stolen property also includes two lawnmowers and one electric strimmer.

PC Bradfield said the damage was believed to have occurred sometime on either on Tuesday, October 29 or Wednesday, October 30, when a large group of youths entered the garage and caused damage and stealing items.
