TAVISTOCK Community Hospital is a National Health Service facility much treasured in the town and its staff have proudly served generations of its residents from the 'cradle to the grave'.
Over the years its facilities have grown and today the hospital, on Spring Hill, offers many medical services, including 15 inpatient beds, a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU), an X-ray department, an operating theatre and outpatient physiotherapy departments.
Tavistock Clinic provides a modern health care environment for children with special needs, speech and language therapy, audiology, orthoptist, optician, dental and mental health services.
It also provides vital adult services such as podiatry, chemotherapy, The Triangle Centre, the memory clinic, family planning, cardiac rehabilitation and Devon Carers.
The hospital, currently run by Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust, is supported by The Friends of Tavistock Hospital, who fund raise to provide medical equipment and improve patient facilities for the benefit of all the local community.
The Times would like to hear from readers with their stories about what the hospital means to them.
