HAPPY or unhappy —however you feel about the way Okehampton is run, you have the chance to ask questions and get answers at this year's annual town assembly.
The event, which will be held in the Charter Hall on Market Street at 7pm on Monday March 28, will this year have a different, more exciting format, with the local community able to get more involved than ever before.
Members of the public will be able to ask any question they like to members of the town council's committees, as well as to councillors from Devon County Council and West Devon Borough Council.
The past year has seen many issues and pressures on the community of Okehampton, with job losses, parking meters and the Localism Bill all having an impact.
The annual town assembly is the chance for electors to tell the town council how they feel, and to ask questions on anything from parks to parking, and toilets to trains.
The evening will also see three presentations.
'The Past' will be presented by the Okehampton Community Archive and will show photographs of the town, events, people and history over the last 100 years.
'The Present' — by the Destination Okehampton group — will focus on what is currently happening in the town, including traffic, transport, housing, services and the economy.
Looking forward, 'The Future' will show how current plans will affect Okehampton, including topics such as proposed traffic management and railway services, and the impact of the Localism Bill.
There will be free refreshments.
