A GROUP of young people will be making a presentation about their recent Duke of Edinburgh Award trip to South Africa next week. The presentation evening next Wednesday, September 13, will give the six youngsters from the Okehampton area the chance to talk about their experiences, with particular emphasis on their expedition. When the presentation is completed, it will enable the group to have that part of their expedition section signed off and finished. For the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award as a whole, each candidate has to complete five sections at gold level: the expedition, skill, service, physical recreation and a residential project, which four of them did while in South Africa, the other older two had previously done this section before. The award officer Sally Yeo from Devon County Council will be among those coming along to the presentation. The evening starts at 7.30pm, in the Charter Hall, and anyone who is interested is welcome to attend.
