SIX geography pupils at Kelly College have been commended by the Government and awarded a certificate from Justine Greening, the Secretary of State for International Development, in recognition of their entry into the 'Shape the Future' competition.
Edward Jenks, Cara Layden, Josie Francis, Siân Temple, Charlotte Allen and Richard Bennett had to present their plans for the post 2015 UN Development Goals. The group had to consider the current Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), why they were selected and how international agreement has operated.
During their presentation, the pupils also addressed how well the countries have achieved the goals; how and why the goals are being reviewed and what the new focus might be for future development.
