THERE's an opportunity to purchase something slightly unusual for the home this weekend, when St Mary's Church at South Zeal holds a pew view morning.

The chapel is being re-ordered during the coming weeks — the building is being carpeted and the wooden pews are due to be sold.

The Rev Michael Thayer said: 'Good quality chairs are being bought, so all possible types of service can be covered.

'It just gives us some flexibility when we do services other than those which are of a more formal nature.'

Mr Thayer said it was hoped the sale of the pews would finance the re-ordering project.

He said: 'It's a very exciting project and we hope to have it all finished and ready for use by the end of January.'

The pew sale takes place in the church on Saturday December 13, between 10am and noon.
