BUILDING on the success of the 2011/2012 Bank Square Arts Market, Tavi Arts Market has recently been re-launched and relocated to a more central location at Bedford Square in Tavistock.
The new Tavi Arts and Makers Markets will take place on Bedford Square in front of the town hall from 9am until 4pm on particular Saturdays throughout this year.
The first market will take place this Saturday, April 6, and then again on May 4, June 15, August 17, October 5 and November 16.
For December there will be a special Christmas Arts and Makers' markets arranged for Sundays, December 8 and 22, indoors at Tavistock Pannier Market.
The market seeks to provide a trading and promotional space for local artists and makers to exhibit and sell their high quality and locally produced hand-made wares, including paintings, ceramics, metalwork, glass, woodwork, jewellery, textiles, photography and many other original creations.
Thanks were expressed to Tessa Clarke, West Devon Borough Council, Tavistock Farmers' Market and all previously involved artists and visitors to the Bank Square initiative. Now local artist Cheryl Reeves (Moorwishes) and her husband Mark are organising the new look Tavi Arts Market in partnership with Tavistock Town Council and others.
