WITH regards to the article 'Loo locking time an utter disgrace', (Times, June 10), I will take it upon myself to tell you, my story regarding this subject.
One lovely evening recently, as my two and a half year old wasn't settling. I decided to take her out around the park on her trike. We ended up near the post office and I realised she needed a nappy change.
Luckily, I'd brought one out with me but had limited changing equipment. I was relieved that we were near the police station toilets as there is a family toilet there with changing facilities. To my horror i found them locked.
I wanted to change her as she would be uncomfortable and might get sore. I was forced to try to find somewhere quiet and out of the way to change her. I ended up having to go by the river in Dolvin Road and use a bench. This was very impractical. There were no facilities to wash my hands after, she also had to lie on the hard bench. My daughter wriggled so much due to being uncomfortable that she managed to get in a bit of a mess.
So you can understand that I also think it a disgrace. I was very upset to be put in such an awkward situation due to the toilets closing so early.
