After the success of the first two shows in 2019 & 2020 the third Yelverton Art Festival will take place over the weekend of March 5 and 6 at Yelverton Memorial Hall.
Entrance is free and it will be open from noon to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
This year’s event will be raising funds for Plymouth and Cornwall Cancer Fund. There will be stalls, an exhibition and sale of paintings, other works of art and cards.
There will be drop-in workshops run by Andy Cairns of West Devon Art workshops (westdevonartworkshops.co.uk).
The Saturday workshop will be willow and tissue work, some of which will be used for a ‘Paint the Town’ event in Tavistock later in the year.
The Sunday workshop will be fun with clay. Workshops are free, but donations to charity are welcome.
There will be a café offering tea and cakes throughout the day and soup at lunch time. A raffle supported by local businesses will raise funds for the chosen charity.
The aim of the festival is to celebrate local artists and encourage aspiring artists, especially those who have not had the opportunity to show their work before. It is an opportunity for all to meet and chat with the artists and buy some unique works of art.
