The workshop was held at Tavistock College and was very well attended with almost 50 martial artists, ranging from beginners to black belt fifth dan, from Plymouth, Torquay, Liskeard, Exeter and as far away as Honiton. The guest instructor from Italy was Piero Rovigatti eighth dan in the art of Goju Ryu Jujitsu.
Umberto Bergonzini, the club instructor and organiser, said: 'Another great event which everybody enjoyed. I think this was probably the largest martial arts gathering which has taken place in Tavistock. I would like to thank all the participants for making the day such a success. My thanks also go to the college for making their facilities available and helping Tavistock in consolidating its position as a highly professional place to train in the Martial Arts.'
The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Scout Hall in Pixon Lane.
Anyone interested in joining can contact Umberto on 07866 720361 or come to one of the classes.
