YOUR report of July 27 that the Tavistock leisure pool is to be largely extended is somewhat disturbing.

West Devon Borough Council said it has consulted extensively, including with the town council, but not the public.

The townspeople should be assured that the building will not encroach upon the area and beauty of The Meadows, our popular public park.
