MORE than 70 Tavistock Primary School pupils had the opportunity to watch a dance performance and then take part in a dance workshop led by year 11 Tavistock College dance leaders recently.

The dance leaders were given free reign to plan and deliver their own workshop which involved them choreographing their own dance to perform and then leading a 40-minute workshop.

The leaders started the Dance Leaders Level 1 award in October last year and have been developing their leadership skills over the year.

They have previously planned and led three year seven workshops which provided them with invaluable experience and helped them to develop the skills required to deliver the primary workshops.

This is the first time the college has run the Dance Leaders course.
