The workshop, held at Tavistock College, was well attended with 53 martial artists including those from Plymouth, Torquay, Liskeard, Exeter and as far away as Clevedon. The guest instructors from Italy were Piero Rovigatti and Davide Conti, eighth and fifth dan respectively in the art of Ju Jitsu.
Club instructor Umberto Bergonzini said: 'It was another great event which everybody enjoyed. I think this was probably the largest martial arts gathering which has taken place in Tavistock.
'I would like to thank all the participants for making the day such a success. My thanks also go to the college for making their facilities available and helping Tavistock in consolidating its position as a highly professional place to train in the martial arts.'
The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Scout Hall in Pixon Lane. Anyone interested in joining can contact Umberto on 07866 720361 or come to one of the classes.
