THERE is an opportunity to see a wide range of colourful and exciting artwork at a special exhibition in Tavistock this week. Exhibits by seven West Devon artists go on display at the Scrapstore at the Molly Owen Centre this Saturday, September 9 as part of the Nine Days of Art festival. Featured are textiles by Jane Deane, mixed media designs by Jillian Morris, hand embroidered textiles, African-inspired bead work, jewellery and pictures by Abby, Hannah and Kate Parsons and hand-rolled felt by Mary Toon. In addition, there will be paintings by Tavistock mayor Caroline Keane, whose work may also be viewed at her home at 20 Parkwood Road, between 10am and 4pm until Sunday, as part of the Drawn to the Valley arts festival. The exhibition is open during the weekend between 11am and 4pm and during weekdays between 10am and noon and 4pm until 6pm.
