THE Soldiers Sailors Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) West Devon is very grateful to the Exbourne Choir for the wonderful support it demonstrated recently for the voluntary work which we do amongst local ex-service men and women.

The choir’s moving Concert of Remembrance on November 21 provided us with important and essential publicity, advertising our work and as a result reaching more of those who need our help.

However, what is especially heartening is the splendid generosity shown by the audience in raising over £500 on the night, which will not only sustain the work we do but also makes very clear the widespread support which our service men and women, both serving and retired, enjoy amongst the people of West Devon.

So, through your columns, I would like to express the gratitude of the SSAFA voluntary workers in West Devon, both to the choir and the musicians for a marvellous and magical evening, and to the people of Exbourne for their kindness. Thank you one and all, and our very best wishes for the New Year.
