A WOMAN had to be rescued by fire crews after falling down at Whitchurch on Sunday (April 2).
Crews from Tavistock and Yelverton, along with the Specialist Rescue Team, a specialist rescue advisor and an operational supervisory officer all attended the incident at around 1.30pm where the female had fallen from a cliff of up to 20 metres at Walreddon. Small 4x4 vehicles were also sent to the incident due to the location and access.
Crews used rope and line rescue and a short extension ladder to rescue the female with a suspected broken ankle, who was then transferred to the waiting air ambulance.
