A WOMAN car driver was taken to hospital with possible chest injuries after her vehicle went into the back of a transit van turning right at a junction. The accident occurred on the A386 between Okehampton and Hatherleigh, at around 1.30pm last Thursday. The woman was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with possible rib and chest injuries, but these were not considered to be life-threatening. A land ambulance from Okehampton was first to attend the scene, where the patient was found to have full spinal immobilisation and was given oxygen therapy. Devon Air Ambulance was also called to the accident.
