POLICE are appealing for any witnesses to an alleged assault that occurred on Exeter Road near its speed camera.

At around 8.30am on Friday, June 12, two Okehampton College female students were walking towards the town when in an unprovoked attack an older female — described as being aged between 35 to 45 years-old, standing about 5'2" tall, slim with blonde hair, wearing a long black coat and satchel type bag — approached the girls and slapped one of the two girls in the face causing a visible injury.

Following the incident the assailant walked away. 

The incident took place during a busy part of the day and it is likely that people queuing in traffic in Exeter Road would have seen the female or the alleged assault.
