POLICE this week appealed for witnesses, following a motorcycle accident near Mary Tavy in which the bike rider later died from his injuries. The accident occurred at around 4.10pm on Sunday August 7 on the A386 at Blackdown ? no other vehicle was involved. The Sach 650cc Roadster motorbike was ridden in the Tavistock direction by a 74-year-old man from Paignton ? he was carrying a 48-year-old woman passenger, also from Paignton. The bike driver was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance suffering from chest injuries ? he died on Sunday August 14 from complications arising from the injuries. The woman was also taken to hospital but was not seriously injured. Police are carrying out an investigation into the cause of the accident and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
