POLICE in Tavistock are looking into an incident in which a sheep was attacked on moorland in the Leg O' Mutton area near Yelverton.

The incident happened at around 11am on Sunday, January 11 and involved a white English bull terrier.

A member of the public who approached the dog and its owner states he was verbally abused as a result.

The photograph (above) shows a man with whom police would like to speak in connection with this enquiry.

If you know who this man is, contact police on 101.

The man in the photo is believed to have walked away towards Chubb Tor after the incident.
