OKEHAMPTON Golf Club ladies' section on Wednesday September 24 played a stableford and Cancer Spoon competition .

The winner on 38 points (back 9) was Gladys Thatcher and second was Kath Mansell, also on 38 points. Shirley Stunnell was third with 37 points.

Kath Mansell went one better the following week, winning the October medal competition with a good net score of 68 getting her handicap cut two weeks in a row. Pam Jarman was second with net 69 and Doris Jewell was third with a net 71.

The qualifying competitions are coming to a close and after a successful summer the ladies are looking forward to some relaxing winter golf!
