Mount House 25 Truro School 15 Mount House 1st XV produced an outstanding performance to defeat a big side from Truro School, and thus remain unbeaten so far this season. Rhys Davies opened the scoring for Mount House with a huge penalty from the Truro ten-metre line, only for the Truro pack to seize the advantage with a try from a five-metre penalty. The game settled into a stalemate, until fly half Ollie Sale broke the Truro defensive line for the first try, an effort improved by Davies? touchline conversion. Half-time came with Mount House leading 10-5. Truro started the second half with a change of tactics, kicking for position much more. This brought immediate rewards with a try from the forwards, bringing the scores level. A fine break by Ollie Sale put full back Freddie Jayarajah in at the corner while the same player scored a second after a well worked loop between centres Rhys Davies and Michael Cousens. Davies? well struck conversions gave Mount House a comfortable 24-10 lead. Wing Alex Zervudachi caught a misdirected penalty kick ten metres from his own line and ran almost the full length of the pitch to score in the corner. Kelly Prep School 0 Mount House School 17 FOLLOWING last week?s unbeaten performance at the Clifton College Rugby Tournament, the Mount House First XV took to the field in confident mood. The first half was played almost entirely in the Kelly 22, with the home team defending well. A number of good chances for Mount House went begging as the final passes were spilled or misdirected. After the restart, the physical efforts of the first half began to catch up with the Kelly players, and within five minutes Mount House went ahead through a try by Alex Zervudachi which was not converted. Further tries followed, with the Mount House captain Michael Cousens scoring from a quickly taken penalty, and Alex Zervudachi beating three defenders to score his second try of the afternoon. Rhys Davies? conversion added the two points.
