North/Okes U14s 22
Sidmouth U14s 5
NORTH/Okes hung on to their winning streak but conditions were sticky and plenty of spilt ball made it a scrappy game.
Neither team really settled down during the match and simple errors from both sides prevented scoring.
Lewis Taylor kicked well at fly half under pressure, but he picked up an injury and the reshuffle of the backs disrupted things for a while.
Half time saw many changes which meant North/Okes had to settle again but the forwards' scrummaging was solid and a superb tackle from Charlie Goldsworthy prevented Sidmouth from scoring.
Ben Sharp peeled off the back of a scrum to score in the corner and a further try came from Will Bedford, who broke through the tackles to score on his first game.

PLAYING up the slope first half Okehampton pushed Sidmouth back into their own half for large periods of time, with the backs and forwards passing and rucking well.
But just before half time Sidmouth managed to break through and scored a try wide out which was unconverted.
This set up a good test for the Okes, and turning round at half time and now playing down the slope, they began to pressure Sidmouth into some mistakes and following a dropped pass, the Okes gathered the loose ball and passed quickly to winger Matt Dennis, who rounded the defence to score under the posts which was converted by Brandon Horn.
The next ten minutes saw both sides throw everything at each other, but with the Oke's forwards gradually getting more possession, their backs found a gap wide out for Harry Williams to score an unconverted try.
With time running out Sidmouth pushed the Oke's back on their own line, but the defence held firm to give them their best win of the season so far. This was a very good team performance and showed real team character in defeating a Sidmouth side that has not been beaten this season.
Bideford U12s 19
Okehampton U12s 0
OKEHAMPTON were slow off the mark with Bideford scoring very early in the game from a break down the wing from a line out.
The set pieces were evenly matched but Bideford were a bit wiser at the breakdown and managed to scoop up any loose ball. This competitive edge gave Bideford a second try not long after. This rattled the young Okes who started to compete for the ball with more vigour.
It was not until long into the second half when Bideford crossed the line for their third try due to some defensive errors by the visiting team. Okehampton pushed for the Bideford line to gain a concilation try only to be disallowed by an infringement. Credit must go to the whole team who competed very well.

WITH a large squad of players Okehampton were again able to field two sides, as they have done all season.
The young Okes players are learning fast that good clean ball from rucks and mauls produce tries.
Okehampton started the matches with a bang, turning over the ball from Bideford attacks at every opportunity.
Joshua McCulloch, David Smith, Sonny Luxton, James Stevens and Harry Laing-Taylor all made some crucial tackles to stem any Bideford attacks. Daniel Wonnacott, Ben Wharton and James Close all scored good breakaway tries with the latter proving invauable in and around the ruck area.
George Cox, Jake Laing-Taylor, Mathew Denning and Charlie Glanville all used space on the pitch well setting up good clean ball for others to attack.
Will Cunningham showed Bideford a clean pair of heals finishing off with two tries.
Saul Holliday played well on the wing creating chances for his team and always going forward. Cole Pengelley put in another outstanding performance scoring four tries and stealing Bideford ball from the breakdown area at will.
Joshua Burgoyne and Ethan Wilds are starting to gel well at halfback.Ethan Wilds scored one try, tackled well and split the Bideford defence on numerous occasions.
Joshua Burgoyne put in his best performance of the season at scrum half scoring four tries, two being well timed interceptions.
Both players played with real intent which Bideford struggled to cope with. Bideford tackled well but Oke showed a real ruthless streak piling pressure on the home side right upto the final whistle.
The Bideford coaches commented on the Okehampton squads' great teamwork and ability which is a credit to them all.
Okehampton U8s 18
Bideford U8s 18
AFTER being very lucky with the weather the under 8s put in a very good performance against the Bideford side. There were good tries scored by Oliver (six), Tom (five), Jay (four), Dillon (two) and Charlie (one).
Everyone worked well together with lots of tagging and because of this it was the team's closest match yet.
Well done to Tom for earning the squirrel and to Edward Luke for being Bideford coach's man of the match. Well done everyone.
