THE lucky winner of Tavistock Lions? Christmas draw was presented with her prize at her stall in the pannier market. Club president Lyn Roberts presented the prize to Melinda Malins. Also present was Becky Elliott from Tavistock Picture Framing Company, the owners of which had donated the picture, a mixed media original painted by Deborah Vallance. Lyn said she was delighted with the continuing support of Tavistock Picture Framing Company and Morrisons which had allowed club members to sell the tickets in their store. With their help, the draw had raised almost £1,000 for local children?s charities, £500 of which the club has decided to pledge to the Bere Alston-based charity, ?Hair Bare Bunch?, which is raising money for two amphibious wheelchairs for seven year old twins Edward and William Larkin who both suffer from cerebral palsy. The twins are severely limited as to where they can go with their existing wheelchairs and these newly invented French chairs will make a huge difference to their mobility.
