Tavistock 0

Plymouth GSOB 3

TAVISTOCK, fielding a bare XI, started with a positive attitude as Plymouth Grammar School Old Boys were top of the league and winning their games with some ease.

The game began with a battle of the wings and front lines from both sides exchanging ends of play until the visiting side cut through the defence of Wood, Edwards, Rundle and Lethbridge. Not downheartened, Tavistock kept battling the whole way through, much to the surprise of PGSOB — they thought the home side would start to crumble like many have before.

The combination of Lovett, Barrett, Jeffery and Daniells forced the midfield play both forwards and, when needed, adding extra support at the back. The battle was stopped again due to a fine short corner from the opposition. Lloyd and Cowan started to put extra pressure with well constructed moves but with no final reward.

The game was tight and tense and played at a fast and competitive pace. Tavistock found the pressure growing but with keeper Bradley pulling off many fine saves Tavistock finished on quite a high.

l This week's game is home to Truro, 2pm push back.
