TWO lucky families can win the chance to take part in the first Polar Express train ride from Okehampton Station.

Official rides start on Monday November 19, but the team behind the Christmas experience are offering two families the chance to win a special place on the first rehearsal Polar Express Ride from the station on Sunday, November 18.

Inspired by the hit Warner Bros film 'The Polar Express' and book by Chris Van Allsburg, the Polar Express will make a mystical one hour round trip to Bow, visiting the North Pole.

Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, pyjama-clad passengers will relive the magic of the story and see their favourite characters come to life. During the journey, the conductor will punch tickets and serve hot chocolate, just like in the film.

Passengers will also enjoy a sing-song and a special reading of the Van Allsburg classic.

The Polar Express trains will depart at 5pm and 7.30pm on most dates throughout November and December. Advanced booking is required and tickets are on sale now. Prices start from £20 per adult and £15 per child.
