TAVISTOCK played some of their best rugby of the season to gain this hard earned and well deserved victory.
They put Bude under pressure and were rewarded with an early try from prop forward Darren Sutton. Josh Sutton converted with an excellent kick from the touch line.
Tavistock then momentarily stopped concentrating and allowed Bude to draw level with a converted try.
From the restart Tavistock went back onto the attack with Matt Smith making ground and hooker Ben Sutton showed all round ability with an excellent kick to the corner.
Paul Dunston on the left wing worked hard, never allowing his opposite number time to settle and from this pressure fly half Will Frappell was twice denied a try when tackled just short of the line.
Tavistock went back into the lead when quick thinking allowed Ollie Dick to cross near the posts. Sutton converted.
They extended their lead when Will Frappell scored, again Sutton converted. Just before half-time Bude reduced the arrears.
The second half was controlled by Tavistock. Andrew Barwick dominated the lineout and the shrewd use of the slope by the half backs kept Bude pinned in their half for long periods.
Forwards Phil Maloney and Hamish Pearse Danker made good use of the possession driving well in the loose allowing back Richard Morris, Rob Emmett and James Radford to probe the Bude defence, but were unable to score.
The only Tavistock try of the half and that which sealed the game came from full back Rob Williams who finished off a move initiated by Josh Sutton and Dick.
Late in the game Bude put on the pressure and were awarded the consolation of a penalty try.
