Torrington U12s 0 Okehampton U12s 56 THE U12s squad travelled to Great Torrington on Sunday. Ground conditions were good with the pitch cut up by the previous day's games. Okehampton kicked off and launched themselves at the opposition who had the high ground. Attacks were put in and Torrington defended valiantly but ultimately Okehampton pressure broke them down and allowed Tom Wilkins to open the scoring. Torrington launched an attack from the restart but were easily held off the line by the Okehampton squad who went on to launch a series of attacks which ended in Jordan Cornthwaite and Robert Dunn crossing the line before the break. Okehampton went straight into the attack from the restart and with a downhill advantage were dominating the game, only allowing Torrington into their half after scoring . These attacks were frustrated by the backs with the wings well guarded by Edmund Howard and Daniel Podd, allowing the whole team to renew the pressure. The Okehampton pack were also piling in at any opportunity and driving their opponents off the ball, allowing Luke Vincent to feed the threequarter line with some excellent ball. This half saw Jordan Cornthwaite get a nice hat-trick of tries with Dean Folland, Liam Wilkins and Lammy Lee all crossing the line. All these were converted by the accurate boot of Liam Wilkins. Landscape League Crediton U16s 0 Okehampton U16s 5 THIS was an important game for Okehampton to win to keep the pressure on Barnstaple at the top of the league. Okehampton's pack had the better of the first half with Luke Crocker and Stuart Bennie to the fore. Scrum-half Richard Friend gave his opposite number a torrid time at the scrums, but Okehampton could not get the breakthrough. Crediton's backs tackled well as Okehampton tried to move the ball wide. In the second half there was nothing between the sides and the Okehampton back line tackled just as well as Crediton, expecially centres Rory Honeychurch and Carl Goodall. With only ten minutes left Carl Poynton's first penalty attempt struck the upright, Scott Simpson collected the rebound on the charge but was stopped just short of the try-line. A few minutes later from a Crediton scrum on their own five metre line, Friend charged down the clearance kick, Poynton gathered to score much to the disappointment of a hard working Crediton side.
