I WONDER how many people out there are like me and think, why do I bother to recycle and put my bins out every week?
We are constantly told that by recycling we are helping to keep the cost of our rates down. Plus, there is less going into landfill sites by helping.
I think instead of trying to educate us, the public, it would be better to spend time training the staff whose job it is to collect this waste. Twice in the last six weeks they have failed to empty my food bin and green box, for no other reason than they are in such a rush to get finished for the day. It wouldn't be so bad, but their lorry is backed right up beside my bins. They only seem to see bins that are on the other side of the road; work that one out.
I just wonder how many more householders out there are fed up with the mess they leave and have to clear up behind them? To the men themselves, I'd just like to say, take a little pride in your work, it's better than being on the dole!
