Whitchurch U13s v Mount Wise U13s
WHITCHURCH battled through Palladium League Cup to cup semi-final. Whitchurch U13s Colts Cricket team are through to the semi-final, after beating Plymouth Mount Wise in a dramatic finish.
Plymouth put on 46 for the first wicket. Captain Josh Towl bowled Luke Edwards, soon after Barney Megicks stumped Collicott and Whitchurch, then preceded to take regular wickets, with Josh Towl 4-0-19-2, and his younger brother Dan with 4-0-31-2, leading the early charge. David Northey and Ben Hodge kept it tight, and Northey finished with figures of 4-0-16-1 and Hodge 3-0-6-1. Lewis Edmonds batted through for Plymouth with 56 not out in a total of 104-6.
Whitchurch started badly, losing Christian Hodges in the second over, but Josh Towl began hitting the boundary.
Two quick wickets, Poole (1) and Ben Hodge first ball, put Whitchurch back in trouble. Barney Megicks and David Northey could only add one each before Josh Towl and Dan Towl then put on a stand of 38.
When Dan was bowled, Whitchurch still needed 18 runs, with Josh Towl still there Whitchurch got to the last over needing seven to win, two wides, three singles, Whitchurch hit the winning run off the last ball. Towl was ably supported by Tom Philips and Finn Jenkins.
