THE Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney committee is holding a sheepdog trial event including dog show on Saturday, August 28 at the sports field Plasterdown.

The trials have been successful in raising money for the churches of Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney over the last 34 years. The trials have from 1981 to 2009 been held at Birchy Farm, Whitchurch by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Tom Cox, but this year are returning to their original site adjoining Plasterdown by permission of Michael Doidge.

This years event is being well supported and together with the dog show and numerous stalls promises to be an enjoyable day out and a must on the holiday weekend.
