LYDFORD's 'Whatever Happened to Summer Fayre' is to be held on Saturday, September 15 at Lydford Sports Field.
Promising an afternoon of traditional family entertainment and fun, the fayre starts at 2pm with an art display by local artists, barbeque and licensed bar for the hungry and thirsty, teas and coffees and ice creams.
Various stalls will be on offer including a National Trust stand and games. Draw tickets will be on sale and the raffle will be drawn that afternoon.
There will be fun and games for children and adults alike and win a prize. If your dog is your pride and joy, bring it along to the family dog show kindly run by Wingletang (Margaret Green Foundation) starting at 2pm – it doesn't have to be a posh dog, there are classes for both young and older dogs, as well as the smartest and scruffiest!
Admission to the fayre is 50p for adults and 25p for children and parking is available. Anyone who would like to 'hire' a stall for the afternoon will be charged £5 — stallholders can then keep all the money they make. Call 01822 820411 for more details.
You can even make a day of it —watch the Tour of Britain cyclists pass through the village from about 11.30am to noon, visit the fayre and stay to watch our Film on the Field outdoor movie in the evening.
Mama Mia will be shown on Lydford Sports Field at about 8pm. Wear warm clothing!
