ST JAMES? Day this Sunday (July 25), will be marked in Okehampton with two very different services in St James? Chapel.
The monthly ?Early Bird? service takes place at 9.30am. The short, informal service, specially designed for families with young children, will feature songs, Bible Stories and simple prayers.
At 6pm there will be a service of prayer book evensong with the choir of All Saints Parish Church.
Rector of Okehampton the Rev Stephen Cook said: ?We probably don?t use St James as much as we should: it has a wonderful situation right in the middle of town.
?There is a service of holy communion every Thursday at 10am, but the only regular Sunday services are the ?Early Birds? on the last Sunday of the month.
?St James? Day gives us the chance to celebrate this wonderful old building, which I know is held in great affection by the people of the town.
?Anyone who would like to join us for either service would be most welcome.?
