MEMBERS of Spooners and West Dartmoor Hunt declared war on rubbish in Tavistock last Sunday.

Three teams of members from the hunt together with supporters met in Bedford car park armed with black bags for their sponsored litter pick.

They scoured the main roads leading out of Tavistock and hedgerows and verges — and collected 30 black sacks of litter.

The litter pickers were pleased with the amount they collected but horrified with the amount of rubbish people throw out of car windows.

After the litter pick, members returned to Bedford car park to be greeted with hot home-made pasties.

Some of the volunteers are pictured with the results of their labours.
