ALL Okehampton squash teams were in action last week. The first team were hosts to Exeter Golf and Country Club, one of the top teams in the division, and what a game it was.
Steve Yeo lost 2-1, and Andy Glossop went down 3-0 but wins from Donald Rooke and Martin Leyton tied the match.
The game of the evening was Arnie Searle v Dave Grant who beat Arnie last year. But it was sweet revenge. Arnie lost the first but came back to take the second. At 2-2 both were really tired but Arnie dug in with an awesome display to take the fifth 9-7 to win the match for Okehampton.
The second team lost to Honiton seconds by three rubbers to two. Wins came from Dennis Edwards and Steve Adkins to give the home side seven points.
The ladies were also at home to Newton Abbot but also just lost 3-2. Wins came from Sue Stanbury and Kath Bolt to give them six points to add to their total.
